Happy Mother's Day

to my mom and all moms.

Here's a card I made with a lot of Tim Holtz products for Ideaology, Ranger and Sizzix. Here's a list:

Tim Holtz® Distress Ink Pads: Dusty Concord, Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick

Tim Holtz® Idea-ology Index Labels

Tim Holtz® Idea-ology Tissue Wrap Melange

Other: paintbrush

And now let me walk you through the steps.:

Fold cardstock to make 5.5" x 4.25" card. Lay Lattice stencil over and apply Worn Lipstick and Dusty Concord Distress inks with mini Ink Blending Tool.

Die cut a trophy using Sizzix Big Shot Machine and Movers & Shapers die mini trophy out of Grungeboard. Paint the diecut trophy with Adirondack Acrylic Paint Gold. Let it dry.

Trim some Melange tissue wrap to fit on the card front and attach it with Collage Glue Stick.

Attach the painted mini trophy die cut near the butterfly.

At this point the butterfly looked a bit dull, so I took a paint brush and Barn Door and Mustard Seed Distress paints and painted the butterfly a bit. I also added some visual dimension to the trophy with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Both of these would be much easier to do before you attach the die cut to the card.
Add a label sticker pointing to the trophy and add label letters to spell out the sentiment.

Use a paint brush to splatter some diluted gold paint over the card. Once that dries, dab some picket fence paint all over to mute the background patterns a bit so the trophy and sentiment would stand out more prominently.
And here's a close-up of the card...

Happy Mother's Day and have fun :)
