What is your favorite paint medium?

I mostly dabble in Watercolors and Acrylic Paints and therefore, always on the lookout for books that will teach me the techniques with these mediums in a simple way. I picked up James Van Patten's book, 'The Acrylic Painter' with that goal in mind.

The author walks us through the basic tools and surfaces and touches on color theory and then goes on to subject selection for your paintings and the deeper aspects of the artist's vision. He details the techniques of under and over painting, blending, glazing and also impasto painting. He even includes a section for presenting your finished art- sealed, matted, mounted and framed.

It is a great resource to refer to for beginners to intermediate acrylic painters.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
