Create a Celebration Bunting

Whether you celebrate occasions or the everyday, won't it be cool to have a handmade bunting to add to your decor? I created the above bunting with a piece of cardstock, some paints, thread, a few pom poms and Brenda Walton's Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 9PK - Phrase, Celebrate. Let me show you how!

Start with the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 9PK - Phrase, Celebrate.

Take a piece of kraft cardstock. Mine is 8.5" x 11".

Apply various colors of acrylic paints with a brush and palette knife.

To diecut the word 'Celebrate', create the following Sizzix Sandwich: on the Sizzix Accessory Standard Magnetic Platform for Wafer-Thin Dies, lay another Sizzix Accessory Cutting Pads - Standard. Lay the colored cardstock on the Standard Cutting Pad and line up the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 9PK - Phrase, Celebrate
blade-side down. Cover with the other Standard Cutting Pad and pass the whole sandwich through the Sizzix Big Shot machine.

Here are my die-cut letters.

Gather some pom poms in coordinating colors, thread and needle. Thread the needle and string the pom poms and letters of the word Celebrate alternatively, leaving extra lengths of thread at each end.

Here's a close-up of my bunting.

Hope you enjoyed today's tutorial!
