We are already into April! Spring has sprung. Nature is renewed and young again. So, how about creating something that relates to the new and young for your challenge?
I decorated the above paper mache chick as my take for this challenge. We have lots of farms around here and the new hatchlings are just ADORABLE! Follow along as I walk you through the steps.
I found her in Wal Mart. You can find such pieces in other places as well, especially around Easter.
Start with a coat of gesso.
The feet were lightly glued on and easily removable. Remove them or color around the base with Gelatos® color Iced Coffee. Blend with wet brush.
Color the body with Gelatos® colors: Buttercream, Banana, and a touch of Orange Soda.
Blend the colors with gesso. Color the beaks and feet with Gelatos® colors Orange Soda and Tangerine.
Color the eye with Gelatos® color Chocolate and Textural accent Chalk Board Paint.
Add finishing touches to the chick with gesso.
