Fun birthday card in just 5 steps

Hello blog friends! Are you ready for some Sunday inspiration? Here's a cupcake birthday card for you in just 5 steps!
In our family, most of the birthdays fall between September and December. That means a lot of my birthday card making happens right about now. After having moved last month, I'm still overwhelmed with settling in. So, quick and easy has to do for me at the moment. But that doesn't mean that the receivers of these cards have to know about that ;) And whether you moved recently or not, who doesn't like a quick and easy tutorial for birthday cards!
1. To make this card, pull out your colorful paper scraps.
2. To diecut the cupcake and candle, lay various patterned papers face down on the blade side of the Sizzix Bigz Die - Cupcake. Create a Sizzix sandwich by placing the Cupcake die and papers between two Sizzix Accessory Standard Cutting Pads and pass the whole sandwich through the Sizzix Big Shot machine.
3. Die cut the scalloped tag using the same Sizzix sandwich as described above using Sizzix Originals Die - Tags, Hexagon & Scallop.

4. On the card, assemble the cupcake with foam tape for a dimensional look.

Attach the candle to the cupcake.
5. Stamp sentiment on the tag. Tie a piece a piece of colorful thread to it. Attach the tag to the card.
Write a personal birthday wish inside and your card is ready for the mail!

A little box with some French flair

Hello blog friends! Today I have for share a tiny little box w/ dividers with a bit of French flair that you can use to organize some bits and baubles or give it away to a friend! Keep reading for the how-to...

To diecut the Box with Dividers, choose a double-sided patterned paper that's rich in French inspired colors and motifs. I picked one by Anna Griffin.
As the Sizzix Bigz XL dies are over 12" long, standard 12" x 12" scrapbook papers fall a bit short in length. To solve that problem, cut the 12" x 12" paper in two halves, each measuring 12" x 6". Lay the papers on the blade-side of the Bigz XL die Box with Dividers, slightly overlapping lengthwise, making sure to fully cover all the design elements, so when they come out of the Sizzix Big Shot machine, you have full pieces of the elements. I wanted my dividers to be in cream, so I cut cardstock and lay it over the divider sections of the die.
To diecut the Box with Dividers, create the following Sizzix sandwich: place the Box with Dividers die with papers on the blade side between two pieces of Sizzix Accessory Extended Cutting Pads and pass the whole sandwich through the Sizzix Big Shot machine.

Fold along the creases and put adhesive on them following this helpful PDF.

Press to attach the glued edges to assemble the Box with Dividers.

Insert the divider in the box.

To embellish the Box with dividers, you can use the Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folders and Sizzix Framelits Dies with Stamps from the Storage With Sophistication collection by French General.
Cut a couple of strips of cream cardstock. Place a strip in the French Words embossing folder from the Textured Impressions Embossing Folders French Words, Lace and Stiches set. Create a Sizzix sandwich by placing the French Words folder with paper inside it, between two Sizzix Texture Boutique Accessory Standard Embossing Pads and pass the whole sandwich through the Sizzix Texture Boutique machine.

You can ink the embossed strips of French Words to make the words more prominent.

Stamp a label on cardstock. You can stamp a number inside the label or handwrite a note. To diecut the label using the corresponding Framelits die from the Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamps - Labels & Numbers, create this Sizzix sandwich: lay a Sizzix Accessory Standard Cutting Pad on the Sizzix Accessory Standard Magnetic Platform, lay stamped image on the Standard Cutting Pad and put the Framelits die blade-side down to frame the stamped image. Cover with another Standard Cutting Pad and pass through the Sizzix Big Shot machine.

Attach one of the Embossed strips on the top side of the lid of the Box with Dividers. Wrap a Golden ribbon around and tie into a bow. Cover the ribbon on the bottom surface of the lid with the other embossed strip. Pierce a hole on the diecut label and tie it to the ribbon with some string. Organize your pretty laces in each compartment of the Box with Dividers.  Give it as gift or keep it on your desk - either way, it will delight you every time you see it :)
