It's hard to believe that October of the new year is almost over and Halloween is just a few days away! Here's a Halloween layout created with Halloween stencils and other goodies from Tim Holtz.
Here are the supplies I used to make this layout:
Tim Holtz Layering Stencil for Stampers Anonymous - THS026 - Gothic
Tim Holtz Layering Stencil for Stampers Anonymous - THS027 - Halloween
Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamp for Stampers Anonymous - CMS197 - Carved Halloween
Tim Holtz Idea-ology 12 x 12 paper - French Industrial
Tim Holtz Eclectic Elements Fabric - Blue Ticking, Correspondence, Rulers
Tim Holtz® Distress Paints: Tarnished Brass, Walnut Stain
Tim Holtz® Distress Stains: Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade
Tim Holtz® Waterbrushes
Tim Holtz Tonic Studios Kushgrip snip scissors
Ranger Archival Ink Pad: Jet Black
Ranger Collage Glue stick
Ranger Dina Wakley Media Palette Knife
Ranger Heat tool
Ranger Non-stick Craft Sheet
Ranger Texture Paste
Others: cardstock, sewing machine, thread, black pen
Now, let me walk you through the steps.
Color along the edges of the cardstock with Tarnished Brass Distress Paint and flat waterbrush.
Tear French Industrial 12 x 12 patterned paper slightly smaller than 8.5" x 11". Tear and fold along the edges. Attach to the cardstock using Ranger Collage Glue Stick.
With Kushgrip Snip scissors cut into fabric and then tear strips out by pulling towards yourself.
Layer the torn fabric strips on the background.
Attach another strip of patterned paper slightly tucked under the fabric strips. Machine stitch to secure all the pieces in place.
Dab some Tarnished Brass Distress Paint near the top right corner of the layout. Spray water on the wet paint with mister and let the color drip down.
Lay Halloween stencil on the layout and apply texture paste using palette knife.
Let the paste dry thoroughly. You could use a heat tool to speed up the process.
Lay Gothic stencil on the right side of the layout and apply Walnut Stain Distress Paint.
Dab on some Tarnished Brass and Walnut Stain Distress paints over the texture paste words and spray with mister. Hold the layout up and turn it around to let the colors drip down and move around.
Add some Ripe Persimmon Distress stain to the background and blend it with water. When dry, add a photo and add some Spiced Marmalade Distress Stain on and around the photo.
Journal above the photo. Use a black pen to doodle frames around some of the stenciled words. Stamp Happy Halloween above the journal and doodle a frame around it too to finish.
And there you have it. Hope you liked the step-by-step and layout. Thanks for stopping by!
