Enjoy the Journey with Sizzix

Here's a card I made with Sizzix dies, stamps, and accessories.

This one was a fun card to make! It has so many stamped layers to it. This is what I used:

Sizzix Accessory - Multipurpose Platform, Extended

Sizzix Accessory - Decorative Strip Cutting Pads, 13", 1 Pair

Others: cardstock, Archival Ink pad (Jet Black), Distress ink pad (Walnut Stain), acrylic paints (gold, green, blue), Gelatos (Gold Champagne, Metallic Mint), Whipped Spackle, palette knife, paint brush, acrylic block, adhesive

Now, let me walk you through the steps.

Lay cardstock on Stamper's Secret weapon. Mount cling stamp to acrylic block, ink it up with Archival ink, and stamp the compass several times on the cardstock. Re-ink in between. The Stamper's secret weapon provides the extra cushioning a cling stamp needs to create a perfect impression. Be sure to check out this video from Sizzix for more details.

Cut a strip of cardstock to fit the width of the Confetti Decorative Strip die. Lay one 13" cutting pad on top of the extended multipurpose platform. Lay the decorative strip die face up on the cutting pad. Lay the cardstock on the die and lay the other 13" cutting pad on the top. Run this sandwich through the Big Shot machine. pop out the circles from the diecut strip. Save the negative strip with the holes.

Next, lay a standard cutting pad on the magnetic platform for wafer thin dies. Lay the cardstock with stamped images. Place the dies face down on the images. The magnetic pull from the platform will keep the dies in exact position over the images for precision cuts. Lay the other standard cutting pad on the very top and run this sandwich through the Big Shot machine.

Repeat the above step till you have all the layers diecut and ready.

Stamp the sentiment inside the diecut label using Archival ink pad and the Stamper's Secret Weapon.

Use a palette knife to spread acrylic paints on the card. Clean off the palette knife.

Lay the confetti diecut strip negative along the left edge of the card and spread some Whipped Spackle with palette knife using it as a stencil. Repeat till the entire card is covered. Let it dry.

Layer the diecut compass pieces with foam adhesive as shown. Color the compass with gold acrylic paint. When dry, rub some Walnut Stain Distress ink over the compass and the edges.

Mount the compass block onto the card and attach the sentiment label below it. Add some more colors to the compass piece with Gold Champagne and Metallic Mint Gelatos.

Here's a close-up of my card.
Hope you enjoyed today's tutorial and would try these Sizzix accessories that make creating much easier with your favorite stamps and dies!
