Here's an art journal page I created using these Distress mini ink pads and Distress paints and Stamper's Anonymous stencils and stamp by Tim Holtz.
Here's a list of products:
Tim Holtz® Distress Ink Minis (Sets 7, 8, and 9)
Tim Holtz® Distress Paint (Barn Door, Chipped Sapphire, Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves, Spiced Marmalade)
Others: book, gesso, Ph Martin's Bombay India ink, paint brushes, Q-tip
Let me break down my page into steps for you
I'm working in a book today. I started by applying a couple of coats of white gesso to the spread. When the gesso dried, I used the Numbered stencil with the Distress Ink Minis and mini blending tool to add the numbers to the bottom right corner of the spread.
Next, I covered the whole spread with Latticework design using stencil and the Distress Ink Minis. I flicked some water to the spread with paintbrush to make the Distress inks react.
I painted some flowers with paint brush and Distress paint above the numbers.
I added some color to the page with some Distress paints and stamped over it with the graph background stamp with Distress ink mini.
Next, I sketched a girl's face on the left half of the spread with pencil.
I colored her lips with Distress Ink mini with a Q-tip.
I liked how the stenciled background looked, so instead of coloring in her face, I decided to define the contour by adding marks next to it with paint brush and Distress paints.
I also colored her eyes a bit.
Finally, I added some words, actually the lyrics of Counting Stars, one of my favorite songs by OneRepublic with paint brush and liquid India ink.
