Wednesday with Sizzix

Here's a Friendship card I had much fun making with Vintaj dies and embossing folders by Sizzix.

Now, even though the Vintaj line is primarily dedicated to jewelry designers, it has great potential for paper crafters. The designs are exotic and I couldn't resist using jewel tones from my collection of coloring mediums.
These are the supplies I used:
Sizzix Textured Impressions 6" x 6" Embossing Folder - Moroccan Fresco (it's pictured below, but I didn't end up using it in my card...thought you might wonder!)
Others: cardstock, Gelato (Gold Champagne), Distress ink pad (Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers and Ripe Persimmon), Archival ink pad (Jet Black), paint brush, ink blending tool, adhesive, stamp (Hashtags by Stampers Anonymous)

And now, let me walk you through the steps:

Cut cardstock to fit inside embossing folders. Emboss the pieces using Henna Butterfly embossing folders and Big Shot Machine. Repeat to create as many pieces as you plan to use.

Using Fancy Key Embosslits Die, diecut and emboss a key at the same time. Diecut two Henna Butterflies out of a couple of the embossed pieces from the previous step.

Attach four of the embossed pieces from the first step as tiles on the front of the card. You might need to trim off any excess in order to make them fit on the card.

Next, color the card with Gold Champagne Gelato and blend with a wet brush. Let dry.

Brush on Peacock Feather Distress Ink using blending tool to highlight the embossed design on the tiles.

Color the key with Peacock Feather, the big butterfly with Ripe Persimmon and the small butterfly with Mustard Seed Distress Ink pads. Stack the small butterfly on the big one and attach near the top of the card.
Attach the key on the bottom half leaving just enough space to fit the stamped sentiment to finish the card.

Next time, you set out to make something, don't forget to check for supplies beyond those for paper crafting!
Thanks for stopping by :)
