A last second DIY gift wrapping

Yep! No matter how much I try, I end up with last-minute things. Over time, I've gotten over perfection and DIY wrapping with recycled materials work for me just fine. And with the hoard of crafting supplies that I have amassed, it isn't hard to take care of wrapping in short time. For the following gift wraps, I combined the old (brown paper packaging) and the new (brand new dies from Sizzix).
I used:

Sizzix Bigz Die - Garden Greens

Others: Tags, Brown paper, thread, sewing machine, Adhesive

Here are the steps:
2. Sculpt the diecut floral pieces with finger and layer them together to create the flowers.
3. Adhere the Garden Greens and Spring Greenery diecuts to tags.
4. Wrap gifts with strings, ribbon, twine, etc. and/or machine stitch them close. Top the gifts with Jumbo Tattered Florals and write on the tags and tuck them in.

Fun Holiday card with Glitz Design

This is the last week of school before the winter break and we deliver our gifts to the teachers and staff at school and our friends from the kids' old school. The gifts are wrapped and ready, tags are attached, just a few more cards to make. Here's one I did with Hello December collection from Glitz Design.
I used:
Glitz Design "Hello December" Whatnots
Glitz Design "Hello December" Stamp Tin
Glitz Design "Hello December" 12 x 12 Stickers- Titles & Accents
Glitz Design "Hello December" Washi Tape Plus
Others: cardstock, acrylic paint, thread, ink

I wanted to make a fun and colorful artsy card. I started by attaching the washi tape as the base. I stamped the car and 'never stop believing' on cardstock. I colored the pieces with Distress ink and flicked water for the inks to react. I popped out the insides from the Happy Holidays tag and arranged the pieces as shown. I topped it off with a sticker. Finally, I stitched to add some texture. I love that the Happy Holidays Whatnot tag added instant sentiment to my card.

Here's a closer look.
Happy Holidays to you all!

Holiday Tags with Glitz Design

How are your holiday preparations coming along? I'm inching along.
This year, I have decided to use my DT projects as part of my gift giving. Here are a few tags toward that goal. Making my own gift tags was easy with the stamps from Glitz Design's "Hello December" Stamp Tin. I stamped the backgrounds of the tags and then the sentiment and to & from. I added some details with watercolor pencils, black and white pens and some sparkle with silver sequins. Finally, I added the to and from names on the tags.

Supplies I used:
Glitz Design "Hello December" Stamp Tin
Others: tags, gold, cream, red acrylic paints, paint brush, watercolor pencils, thread, sequins, sewing machine, brush markers, black and white pens, adhesive

Crafty gifts with Sizzix

I like to add little handmade touches to my gifts, combine old with new, and put it all together with love.

Here's an example of such a gift. You could translate this idea to cooking gifts, sewing gifts, and more. You could even organize your own collection of supplies for a pretty craft space.
To make it, I used the following:

Sizzix Bigz Die w/Bonus Textured Impressions - Jar Labels

Others: cardstock, patterned papers, book text, chipboard, Gelatos, Distress ink pads, blending tools, paint brush, Glaze, assorted ribbons, fibers, and buttons, thread, needle, adhesive, paper piercer, tissue paper

Let me walk you through the steps.

Diecut Spools & LabelsJar LabelsJar Lids, and mini Envelopes & Tags from cardstock, chipboard, pattered papers, and book text.

Assemble the envelopes.

Color the tags with Distress ink pads and blending tool. Flick some water on the tags to let the Distress inks react.

Color the spools die cut out of chipboard using Gelatos and blending with Glaze medium. Let dry thoroughly. You could also diecut Spools & Labels out of patterned papers and adhere them to the chipboard Spools & Labels.

Wrap assorted ribbons, twines, lace, etc. on the finished spools.

Diecut and emboss Jar Labels and Jar Lids out of cardstock and the biggest one out of chipboard.

Color the cardstock pieces with Distress ink pads and blending tool. Flick water. Let dry. Write on the labels with your best handwriting. You could also use stamps and stickers if you like. Color the chipboard label piece the same way as the spools above. Let dry. Sew on assorted buttons in the recipient's favorite colors. Make holes for the buttons in the chipboard to make sewing easier.

This is a brass pail I found at Goodwill a while back. You could buy similar ones in the floral section of craft stores. Or use a jar or a basket or box you already have or found at a flea market. You could always buy new baskets as well. My friends appreciate old finds, so this works for me.

Line the pail with some tissue paper. Fill in the stuff. Attach a label to the pail. Tie the jar lid with a piece of twine with some beads and bells to the handle to finish.
Hope you enjoyed today's tutorial. Thanks for stopping by :)

Nesting Trinket Boxes with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft

Hi everyone, here's an inexpensive gift making tutorial for you.

I believe that adding your loving handmade touches to a simple gift makes it priceless.
Here's a set of nesting trinket boxes that I altered very easily with Design Memory Craft products to give as gifts.

I started with these inexpensive nesting boxes. To alter the boxes, I used these Design Memory Craft goodies:
1. Gelatos® (Cotton Candy, Metallic Mint, Blueberry, Green Tea, Pistachio, Lemon, Metallic Melon, Red Cherry, Tangerine, and Bubble Gum)
2. Gesso
4. Glaze
8. Some patterned paper scraps.
Let me walk you through the steps.

First , color the small box using various shades of blue and green  Gelatos®.
Blend the colors with Glaze. In the center, attach some floral patterned paper using Gel Medium. Mute the design down a bit with a light wash of Gesso.
Color the inside of the small trinket box as well using Gelatos® and Glaze.
With Stamper's Big Brush pen Black, write 'Dream' or another word you like. Doodle around a bit with Essential PITT Artist Pens BLACK brush tip. Fill in some of the doodles with Metallic PITT Artist Pen GOLD.
Repeat the above steps with the bigger box.
Using Essential PITT Artist Pens BLACK brush tip, write quotes inside the boxes. Fill the small box with sweet treats (I put chocolate!). Put the small box inside the big one and latch it closed. And your Holiday gift under $ 5 USD is ready!
