Yet another giveaway

Actually, two... TWO spots in my Big Picture Lift Me Up! workshop for CK Blog readers. You can enter here.

Last weekend, I was at the Orlando Scrapbook Expo demonstrating how to use Faber-Castell tools and mediums and we had an awesome response! Playing with watercolors is very relaxing and fun and I ended up with a bunch of demo pieces that I decided to cut up and make into a few cards... they would have gotten thrown away otherwise and I couldn't let that happen! So here are my cards...

Card # 1

Card # 2

Card # 3

Have fun... 12 more days to summer and no alarm clock :)

Maggie Holmes Photography Class Blog Hop and Giveaway!

I have mentioned Maggie Holmes in my blog quite a few times in the past. Apart from being a member of the Creating Keepsakes Dream Team, Maggie is a magnificent photographer. Here's a little bit about Maggie...
Maggie Holmes has been a professional photographer for 7 years and has created two online workshops in which she gives you all of her tried and true secrets, tips and tricks with you. She shares her knowledge in a format that is candid and easy to understand. Past students rave about how much they learn in such a short amount of time and that the workshops more than pay for themselves because the progress they make is invaluable!
You can see samples of Maggie's photography here.

Her next two classes have just been posted for registration.
Photography 101: July 9th - August 18th, 2012
Advanced Photography: August 20th - September 29th, 2012
These are the last two classes she's offering in 2012 and class size is limited so it is best to register now in order to guarantee your spot.

Hurry in to take advantage of this discount!!!

GIVEAWAY: Maggie is giving away a spot in each class on her blog
BONUS - She is also giving away a surprise BONUS spot in the Photography 101 class and the winner for this will be drawn at random from one of the blogs on the hop. So, make sure to visit every blog on the hop and enter to win at each one because we don’t know which blog the winner will be drawn from!

Using pinks on boy pages

Do you find it challenging? I kind of like the unconventional!
Here are two of my takes

I did this one for Hambly.
And here's another one I did for Creating Keepsakes...

Some more cards

First of all, thanks Madeline Rains for your sweet comment :) I'm glad you liked the challenge. Doesn't it open up a whole new world of creative possibilities?

Hi. I tracked down your blog in order to let you know how much I appreciated your challenge! I kept adding in upcycled materials (that I've been collecting for too long) on other challenges too, and will frequently from now on. Your style inspired me when i used to have a subscription to Creative Keepsakes and I'm glad now to have found your blog. Whew. Longest message ever. Hope your son's feeling better.

Glitz for May

If I had to choose the biggest influences in my life, I'd have to pick my mom, my grandma and greatgrandma. They shaped my values growing up. My first layout is dedicated to all of these wonderful women.

Still sick!

Boy, some week this has been!!!
Even before I could recover from last week's fever, Om fell sick Friday. I was shivering under two blankets in Florida and going out to get the kids in the afternoon in my parka when it was above 80 outside. Then, I had classes to teach on Saturday. Only I know how I managed those.
Sunday, we had to take Om to urgent care. He kept throwing up. After that it has been a blur. He's been home sick all week. And then last night, Brave started throwing up too...
I have done countless loads of laundry. The morning routine has changed. We start the day with morning medicines, then I take Nini to the bus stop, come back and call the school to report Om's absence. Home is quiet even when Om and Brave are together. I could use some sleep, but I keep waking up. Work has accumulated because I haven't had the time or energy. Food has no taste, sleep isn't restful.
Life here is out of order right now...
