A Day at the Fair
We spent our entire Sunday afternoon at the Florida State fair. Nini had a pass for the 11th, but we missed going on that day because we were all sick. Then the work week commenced and we had to wait for the weekend. Saturday was a full day, so we saved Sunday for the trip. The kids had FUN riding all the rides, eating cotton candy, icecream, snow-cones and we loved watching them enjoy themselves like that! Took hundreds of photos :)
Also wanted to thank you all who took the time to leave comments on my blog, sharing your thoughts and opinions, saying you enjoy what I make... THANKS, I appreciate that you visit me and find your kind words very encouraging :)
On another note, my Travel/Vacation Journal kit got featured here.
In this kit, I have included handmade pieces that help you document your road trip or your overseas vacation or any place in between. You can customize your journal cover to fit your vacation.
Happy Monday and to a great week ahead :)

And the ones
they got...
Don't ask me about the treats... my back hurts from picking up empty candy wrappers from where not. Even the dog ate Hershey kisses. I am keeping my box above the book shelf because that's the ONLY place the lil monsters can't reach and they better not eye my chocolates!!!

Tuesday post
Sick. SICK. sIcK. YuCk!!!
Om and I started and then looks like Nini is carrying it on... mom is coughing all night. Om got it from school... reminds me of an ad for Clorox or Kleenex... a kid who would share nothing else would share his germs! Always thought that was a smart ad...being generous with germs... lol :)
Anyways, here's today's share to change the mood...
You can find step-outs at Scotch 3M and the embellishments here.

Classes at Scraporium tomorrow and my February Glitz
Saturday, 2/5 classes at Scraporium:
"Sealed With A Kiss" Journal, 12-2 pm and "Owl Always Love You!" Altered canvas, 3-5pm
It's February and love is in the air. Whatever embodies your love the most this season, celebrate it! For me, my greatest love are my children and this month, I've dedicated both layouts to them as they are the reason I scrapbook :)
In my first layout "Love Always", I wanted to create a pretty vintage look. The pink Damask paper was the perfect background and the bird cage paper layer was just the photo matte I needed.

I created rosettes using both sides of the Damask paper and added giant rhinestones to make the centers.
I created the title in layers. First added the clear frame sticker and added the pink alphabet stickers on top.
Thanks and have fun!
"Love Always" supplies:
Glitz Design "Love Nest" papers: Damask
Glitz Design "Love Nest" transparent stickers: 6x6 Glitzers
Glitz Design Teeny Alphas: pink block
Glitz Design rub-ons: Vintage Love
Glitz Design giant rhinestones: aqua, clear
Glitz Design paper layers: "Love Nest"
Glitz Design whatnots: "Love Nest"
"Sing Laugh Smile" supplies:

Glitz Design "Love Nest" Titles -Cardstock Stickers
Glitz Design "Vintage Love" accent stickers
Glitz Design rhinestones: red

The rub on clock and 'love' definition were perfect embellishments for the page.
My second layout has more of a rustic feel to it.
In keeping with that feel, I tore paper and created a rough ruffled at the bottom and along the the right edges of the page. The stickers came together to sum up my message and create the title. The coordinating sides of the paper took the guesswork out of it. I used the finer dots as the photo matte and journaling spot.
Thanks and have fun!

Tulle...
Do you like tulle? I like it because it's easy to find, is inexpensive and comes in a wide range of colors. I have seen some interesting takes on creating flowers with tulle. But I wanted to do something different with it... like something, non-flowery. So, I made this...

So, it's Groundhog Day & a Giveaway
When I first learned about Groundhog Day, I was extremely amused, I tell you! Well, where I live, we don't need groundhogs to predict anything because we never get snow!
But anyways... for all of you who are having a harsh winter and for those who are missing the splendors of winter, here's something to cheer you up... the newest issue of Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks from Creating Keepsakes. This time it's all about TEXTURES... man, how I dig textures!

It's a close look at various ways of adding textures to your pages. Ever since I got this in my hands, I'm flipping pages and going, 'Ooooh! Gotta try this one... and that one... and this one too!' And I have a feeling many of you will react the same way :)
Here's a layout from my "Textured Titles" article using stamps and 3D paint:

And more sneak peeks here:
You could use coupon code TEXTDT for free shipping on orders of $25 or more at the Scrap & Paper Shop and it expires on 3/31/11.
Now, thanks to CK, I can give away ONE copy of the Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks: Texture issue to one randomly selected lucky winner who leaves a comment to this post stating their favorite way of adding texture to layouts by Sunday (2/6/2011) night. It might be a technique you have tried, dying to try or too scared to try! Also, don't forget to leave your email address in your comment so I can contact you in case you win but forget to check back. I'll announce the winner on monday, 2/7.
Good luck to you all :)

In the Neighborhood
I'm talking about the new Neighborhood collection from Crate Paper... It's cute, springy... what I love most are the colors... not pastels, but soft jewel tones...LOVE it! Very easy to create with and all the little details you can add with the stickers, chipboards, layered chipboards (there's felt too!!!), buttons, die-cuts, ribbons are just yummy... I kept on layering... well, sometimes more is more, especially if you are havin' FUN :)
