Cocoa Daisy Reveal tonight

Yep...the fabby March Kit "Ozzie & Harriet" will be revealed tonight at Cocoa Daisy!
Drop in and take a peek and you just might fall in love.
Here's a look at one of my pages:

and you wouldn't want to miss what the other Daisy Divas have created.

What I loved most about this kit are its colors and of course, the brand new CHA-Winter releases... loads of good stuff that you use to create masculine as well as feminine pages. While you are there, don't forget to check out the add-ons :)

And for AmieeAya, thank you so much for sharing your work with me and for your kind words.
I thought, you might like this call over at the CK Blog:

CK & Me!

"Have you created a page that was inspired by a layout in CK? We’d love to see it! Send an e-mail to letters@creatingkeepsakes.com and tell us what page inspired you and why, along with which issue it appeared in. Attach a scan or photo of your layout sized at 500K or less. Your page could be featured in the “Letters” section of a future issue! Please put “CK & Me” in the subject line. This is an ongoing call with no deadline."

Have a happy weekend :)

Busy...

Been a bit busy with various stuff... happily, mostly creative stuff :)
Almost finished designing a mixed media type project for a workshop, some design team good stuff and a few things just for myself... will share peekies soon!

Loving the birdcages and dressforms I see everywhere these days.

Listening to Nini read a lot of Black History fictions based on true stories is reminding me of cozy evenings back home when I was a little girl. My dad used to read to me and mom while I played or made art and she knitted, crocheted, embroidered... so thankful for that!
My favorite so far is the one about Hariett Tubman and the underground railroad. Gives me goosebumps each time she reads it!
Nini will be in a school play about Ruby Bridges this Thursday, so some voice projection rehearsals going on too.

The kids are practicing karate with each other in Nini's room...belt ceremony coming up on Saturday.
Friday, there's Nini's "PAWS-itive" award for being "Student of the Month", a first for all of us :)

Well, not all's Zeny in my world right now... there's some other uncool stuff going on too for me... but I'm trying to take Ashis's advice to not let it drain my energy... trying and thinking yes, I can, yes, I can... for I still like to believe that it's not bad people, just bad situations... which is why I've been focusing on creating stuff :) Creating gives me a better perspective...
So, here's to a happy creative week :)

Today

it's rainy, icky and very VERY cold!!! I don't like such days :( But it sure calmed the wildfire that was spreading around the conservation here yesterday... such thick gray smoke!!!
Couldn't get good pictures of the treats and cards I sent to school. Here's one anyways.

Hope you are having a drier and warmer day today :)

Valentine week share # 2

Some of you may already have made this card with me if you stopped by the Scotch 3M booth at CHA-Winter. But for those of you who couldn't be there, I wanted to share it here.

Supplies:
1. Citrus Stack- Die Cuts with A view
2. Grey cardstock: 11"x6"- 1 piece
3. Print out of "All You Need Is Love!"
4. Dot roller*
5. Foam Tape*
6. Pencil
7. Precision Scissors*
*All by Scotch 3M

Instructions:
1. Fold grey cardstock in half to make 5.5"x6" card.
2. Sketch a heart on the folded card with pencil and cut. Make sure to keep the folded end secure while sketching and cutting so that the fold serves as a hinge to open and close card.
3. Apply dot roller adhesive following the contours of the left half of the heart and lay one piece of patterned paper down.
4. Repeat on the right half with a different pattern.
5. Turn the heart over and trim off the excess patterned paper with scissors.
6. Using foam tape, attach the sentiment to finish the card.

Time: 5 minutes tops!

Hey, even I can handle 60 of these babies by Friday :)

Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks by Club CK

Happy Hump Day folks!
Club CK is in production now and the first Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks is in the stands.

It's loaded with organization inspiration. My favorite is on page 26: Embroidery Floss on spools... I'm so using that idea because I've a bazillion gazillion embroidery flosses in every color under the sun!!! It's one charming idea...
Also like how they walk you through the process of inventory-keeping for scrappy stuff.
And just because it's about organization, doesn't mean it is boring...because there are nifty neato ideas for studio or scrap area decor and layouts... loving those!

You can use the coupon TIPSB to buy Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks at a discounted price.

Better still, leave a comment to this post and win a copy, actually 2 copies... I'll pick two random winners on Friday. Please be sure to check back to see if you won :)

You can also check the CK Blog for additional chances of winning.

CK Scrapper Bowl

Today is a big day... the start of Creating Keepsakes scrapper Bowl.
Check the details here.
Hope you'll join in for an exciting week of scrapping inspiration and create your own commercials :)

Let the games begin!

It's the climb

Today, the kids watched Hanna Montana: The Movie and I was singing along and the song 'It's the Climb!' struck a cord... I can't count how many times, how many important people in my life have said this to me... to enjoy the journey, and the song summed it up so nicely... my favorite lines were:
"There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb."

In this context, wanted to share this layout I made back in 2008 for CK about an unforgettable lesson my dad taught me at a very young age... no matter what, get up and keep moving forward. I don't know when his conviction became mine too and I started enjoying the process and learned to respect every moment! It's a belief I'm passing on to my children...
