Sigh!

Well, when it rains it pours... this week and the past one hasn't been good healthwise. Om has croup and now Nini has pneumonia along with a nasty ear infection. And I have been sick too. Last night, even though I should have been in bed, I made this card and Om kept me company. Neither of us could sleep with the congestion. After finishing the card, I felt much better. It just takes my mind off of all the troubles for some time.

The weather here is getting better, not so random any more. But almost all the plants in the neighborhood look fried and brown and dead from the frost. So, here's to spring days when everything will come back to life again!

Things are

a bit more stable today. Ashis is back. Om was seen by his doc this morning. It's croup! That's not good news but at least we know what's up.
I scrapped today with the February Cocoa Daisy kit.

Mandy, so far I have only managed a trip to Ikea. We don't have an Ikea in Tampa, so we drive to Orlando for the closest one. My kitchen looks cuter with all the goodies I got this time. I'm not sure when my flea market trip will happen, but when it does, I'll surely share if I find something cool :)
Lonely scrapbooker... aah, wish I knew your name :) I'm doing more 8.5 x11 layouts these days. I haven't given up 12x12... just not as often. Why? Ease of scanning... ever since the battery charger of my little point n shoot went missing, I had been been struggling with taking layout photos and eventually, decided to take the scan & stitch route and it drives me crazy trying to attain a seamless stitch with my 12x12s.
BTW, my finger still has the tumor and it hurts. So, I take pain meds which causes Acid Reflux and hence, I take meds for those as well. Part of life. Glad that we chanced upon the correct meds pretty quickly though :)

Last night while the outside temperature dropped to 25 degrees, Omie's body temperature rose to 103.3! Along with that, there was constant vomitting and crying for daddy who happens to be out of town on office business. His job requires much travel and I have been more-or-less a single parent ever since he took this job. No, I can not even imagine how single moms handle everything... I mean I am provided food, clothing, shelter and health care along with my kids but still some days I find it hard to make ends meet. And with allergy season, pollen's raging here which means immense misery for my little girl who also has a cold at the moment. I haven't slept since Tuesday 5 am which is when Ashis started out for the trip. I haven't eaten anything because after cleaning up puke and doing 3 loads of laundry, I have lost my appetite. Since I'm kinda frazzled right now, thought I'd blog to simply collect my thoughts over a cup of tea. Writing my feelings down always helped me. Okay, I feel better and now I'll try to feed the kids some chicken soup because they can't keep the meds down in empty stomach.
Here's to tomorrow... after all, tomorrow is another day!

So,

today, we went to see the pediatric ENT specialist for Nini and turns out that she is allergic to pretty much everything... trees, grass, milk, wheat, eggs, seafood, etc., etc., etc. That partially explains why she has such a hard time breathing and sleeping and paying attention. We also had XRays done and more tests are needed till we can connect all the dots and determine a course of action. This quest for answers keeps me busy these days as I search out doctors, labs, imaging centers, etc. that our new health insurance will at least pay partially for... all in order to improve the quality of her life.
On a different note, I can now officially announce that I'm part of the 2009 CK Dream Team. It became real when I saw the January issue :)

Relax

that is my New Year's resolution... to just try take things easy! Wanted to work on a 365 project starting Jan 1... didn't happen. Not feeling the mojo yet and don't intend to force it either. Let it come when it comes, if it comes... if not, there's still a lot to do around the house!School reopens tomorrow. Will have the house all to myself for a few hours again. Before that there are uniforms to iron, backpacks to check, glasses to find... books to renew...
All the holiday stuff are packed and put away, new stuff are out. Two trips are planned in my head - one to Ikea to get kitchen stuff and maybe a rug for the family room, the current one used to be great but raising two kids has taken its toll and inexplicable stains that I can't take out even with deep cleaners. Another is to the local flea market to brouse through other people's dusty junk :) Don't know when all that will actually happen, but looking forward to it...
